The Morning Symphony

If you wake before dawn, just grab a hot cup of coffee downstairs in the butler’s pantry and step outside into the cool morning air.  Choose your favorite spot, as any will do.  Whether you’re seated in a rocker on the front porch, the rear patio deck, or just sitting in the amphitheater overlooking the pond, your vantage point is perfect.

As the first glow on the eastern horizon announces the new morning, you’ll hear all the nocturnal “night creatures” scurrying back to their lair.  A coyote howls in the distance, announcing the end of an evening hunt, while white tail deer move quickly across the pasture toward safety in the nearby willows.  In springtime, or in the fall, you may see steam rising from the trees down by the river, as if they’re on fire…but it’s really just the cool outside temperature mixing with the warm flowing waters of the Jefferson River.

To the west, the Tobacco Root Mountains burst into a purple frenzy as the first rays of sunlight reveal their beauty, and Hollow Top stands unmistaken in its majestic splendor.  As the sun illuminates the golden foothills surrounding Willow Creek, you hear a slight rumble off in the distance…ever growing in volume.  In no time a train passes the Inn.  Away in town, you can barely hear the sound of the gates as they lower to stop vehicles from crossing the tracks.

As the morning progresses, the sun rises to greet the new day, and birds of all sorts and colors begin their unique song.  At first, just a few chirps…then more chime in…and finally, the entire assortment is in full concert.  Together, the natural combination of all the musical tones completes the “Morning Symphony”.

Enjoy!
